Minigames are games within a game. In the GTA series they are something to do for fun and make the game feel more alive. They generally serve no purpose but playing them is still required for 100% completion.
In GTA IV we had minigames for Pool, Darts, Bowling and a unique game called QUB3D which was a puzzle game requiring you to form groups of four blocks.
In the DLC The Ballad of Gay Tony you could even play golf, although it was limited to a driving range.
In earlier GTA titles we've seen basketball, arcade games, gambling, air hockey and a variety of unique games.
So what will we get our hands on in GTA 5? We would expect some minigames from earlier titles to re-appear as well as some unique minigames designed specifically for GTA 5.
The official trailer suggests golf could make a return. The scene shows a golfer teeing off on the 8th hole 169 yard par 3 at an unnamed golf course. What is the significance of this? Will we be teeing off there too? Share your thoughts below.
