GTA 5 Soundtrack

While there is no info about the GTA 5 soundtrack we can be sure that it will be massive, and it will deliver an enjoyable listening experience to accommodate your time spent driving around Los Santos and the countryside around it. GTA soundtracks are usually broken down into radio stations that play certain genres of music and there is sure to be something for everyone. Normally the soundtrack contains a variety of licensed tracks from real artists as well as music made specifically for the game.

The most important factor in determining what kind of music to expect is of course the time period the game is set in. GTA 5 is going to be set in the present, just like GTA IV was. Take Two recently said that the story will focus on "the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California."

GTA IV featured one of the largest sountracks of any videogame in history and we are expecting Rockstar to make GTA 5's soundtrack even bigger. Everything about this game is heading towards large scale, which was evident right from the first official trailer that showed us how big the game world will be.

Musical Score

In a first for the GTA series, GTA 5 will feature a musical score that will play during missions. Little else is known about this yet, however it is not a replacement for radio stations, just something to add to the feel of the missions. Radio stations will most likely be used during free roaming.

Radio Stations

GTA IV contained a massive 19 radio stations with more in the DLC content. Based on this we think the kind of radio station genres that we can expect in GTA 5 will be any or all of the following:

GTA 5 Car Radio Stations
  • Pop
  • Dance
  • Rock
  • Country
  • Rap
  • Hip-Hop
  • Latino
  • Electro
  • Classics
  • Hardcore

We are also pretty much certain to see one or two talk radio stations filled with comedy, satire and angry phone ins.

We will of course keep this page updated with all information related to the GTA 5 setting and soundtrack and when tracks and radio stations are announced they will replace the list above. We advise you to keep checking back for more info. In the meantime, why not comment on which kind of radio stations or artists you would like to see feature in GTA 5?

They need some classic west coast rap like South Central Cartel and DJ Quik, but also need room for the new west coast rappers like YG, Jay Rock, and King Lil G lmao

I hope the soundtrack in GTA 5 is better than the one in GTA 4.
